Heather was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana. She graduated from New Albany High School in '1992 and obtained her BA in Political Science in 1997 from Indiana University - Southeast Campus. She was the first Governor's Fellow selected from IU - Southeast and began her Fellowship with Governor Frank O'Bannon in July 1997, working primarily in the Governor's Communications Office. She attended the Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis, graduating in 2002. Upon graduation Heather worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Floyd County and later moved to the Louisville firm of Mapother & Mapother where she was the Lead Attorney until 2015. She is licensed in Indiana (2002), Kentucky (2005) and Ohio (2010). Her practice focuses on Creditor's Rights, Child Support, Child Visitation, Paternity, Divorce, Annulments, Guardianships, Probate, Criminal Law, Personal Injury and General Civil Litigation.
